It’s one of the very first questions couples ask me, usually right after “Is our date available?” And it makes sense. Planner pricing can feel like a bit of a mystery. Some planners list their rates, many don’t, and the words “full service,” “partial” and “day-of” mean different things depending on who you ask.
So let’s clear it up. Here’s what a wedding planner really costs in Dallas–Fort Worth, what changes the price, and how to know which level of help is right for you.
The short answer: in DFW, full-service wedding planning usually runs from about $5,000 to $15,000 or more. Wedding management (sometimes called month-of or day-of coordination) usually runs from about $1,500 to $4,000. Where you land depends on your guest count, your timeline and how much you want handled for you.
Most planners offer some version of these three services. Here’s what each one includes and what you can expect to invest in DFW.
| Service | What’s included | Typical DFW range |
|---|---|---|
| Full planning | A partner from the start: budget, venue search, every vendor, design, timeline, and running the wedding day | About $5,000 to $15,000+ |
| Partial planning | Help with part of the process, often vendor recommendations, design and the final months | About $3,000 to $6,000 |
| Wedding management (month-of or day-of) | You plan it; your planner steps in during the final weeks, takes over vendor communication, builds the timeline and runs the day | About $1,500 to $4,000 |
Nationally, full-service planners generally charge from about $3,500 to $15,000 or more, and day-of or month-of coordinators about $1,200 to $3,500. Bigger metros like Dallas–Fort Worth tend to sit toward the upper half of those ranges.
One quick note: your venue coordinator is not the same as a wedding planner. They’re wonderful, but they work for the venue. Their job is the space, not your vendors, your family, your timeline or you.
You’ll usually see one of three pricing models:
A good rule of thumb: set aside roughly 8% to 12% of your total wedding budget for planning.
No two weddings are the same, so no two quotes are either. These are the things that move the number most:
I believe in being upfront, so here’s exactly where I land.
| Service | Investment |
|---|---|
| Full Planning | Starting at $7,500 |
| Wedding Management | $3,500 |
| Rehearsal dinner coordination (add-on) | $500 |
| Hotel room block management (add-on) | $350 |
| RSVP management (add-on) | $250 |
Most couples I plan with invest $60,000 to $100,000 in their wedding, and Full Planning is tailored to each couple’s vision, guest count and needs. Celebrations above $120,000 are quoted individually.
Here’s what makes my approach different: I’m boutique by design. When you book with me, you get me. Not a team, not a stranger. Me. My phone number, my inbox and my heart, from the very first yes to the very last dance.
Every couple also gets their own private planning portal, right on your laptop or phone. Your checklist, budget and payment schedule, vendor team, guest list, design board and wedding day timeline all live in one place, always up to date. No more digging through email threads and spreadsheets.
I’m biased, but here’s the honest answer. A great planner pays for herself in three ways:
Is a planner worth it for a $60,000 wedding? Yes. At this level you’re coordinating 15 or more vendors and a lot of money. A planner helps you spend it wisely and protects the day.
When should we book a wedding planner? Ideally 12 to 18 months before your date, before you sign with most vendors, so your planner can help shape your budget and vendor team.
Do we need a planner if our venue has a coordinator? Usually, yes. A venue coordinator takes care of the venue. A planner takes care of you, your vendors and the whole day.
What’s the difference between full planning and wedding management? Full planning is a partnership from the start. Wedding management is for couples who’ve planned everything themselves and want a pro to run the final weeks and the day.
If you’re planning a wedding in Dallas, Fort Worth, Frisco, Plano, McKinney or beyond and want a true partner from the very first yes, I’d love to hear about it. I’m now booking 2027 and 2028 dates.
